Fantastic upgrade to the old ALICE style “compass pouch." A bit bigger and more capable. Very handy! Our compass pouch is designed to hold more than just a compass. It will hold compass, small signal mirror, emergency whistle, fresnel lens, and fire starter (matches or Bic or similar). Now with laser cut Hypalon back panel. Designed to attach to pack shoulder strap with strips of double-sided hook & loop (included). Can also use MOLLE attachments such as MOLLE Sticks, MALICE Clips, etc. (Note: These are NOT INCLUDED). Made in U.S.A. with 1000D Cordura nylon (Multicam, Woodland, Green, and Coyote Brown) and 500D Cordura nylon (Vietnam Tiger Stripe). Internal dimensions: 3" wide x 4" tall x 1.5" front-to-back. Lift-The-Dot snap. Attach with included 1/2" or 3/4" or 1" double-sided hook and loop - VELCRO® Brand ONE-WRAP or similar (included) or MALICE Clips or MOLLE Sticks or similar (not included).

What an amazing upgrade over the original! Have purchased several of these handy little items for various purposes, and they are a vast improvement over the old-school USGI compass pouch.
First, the materials used in their construction seem to be superior to that of the original, and there is also a generous amount of additional room inside which can readily accomodate a wide variety of smaller-sized items (such as batteries, fire-starting implements, first-aid items, etc.) and subsequently permits for the quick and easy access of same in the field.
Additionally, the implementation of a Hypalon panel on the back greatly reinforces the laser-cut PALS channels, whereas the pouch can be quickly mounted to a backpack shoulder strap, web/battle belt, or any other platform which accepts ALICE or MOLLE attachment points via the use of MALICE Clips.
Overall this is a fantastic little utiliy pocket with endless possibilities that--like all other products in the Bongo Gear lineup--is superbly engineered, infinitely useful, and simply cannot be beat for the price!
Fanstatic! Bought one to replace my old alice pouch. Easy to stick onto the shoulder strap with the included velcro. Could fit my compass and a couple of other high use items into the pouch. Also bought one to use as a belt pouch. (I use malice clips for attachment.) Highly recommended.
No improvement over an Alice compass pouch or a grenade pouch. With those, there is also a single loop of molle inside to tie down your compass to. There is way too much room for a standard military compass. Does not come with malice or molle straps, just two skinny pieces of velcro that were of no use.
