Bongo Gear’s founder spent a large portion of his 40+ years’ international career living and working in some of the most inhospitable terrains and conditions imaginable. Places such as Afghanistan, Iraq, Papua New Guinea, Central and South America, various countries in Africa, and many other locales where gear failure - and there were many - could not happen without consequences, sometimes life-threatening ones. ("We know a thing or two because we've seen a thing or two.") Because of his unique background and experience, he developed an obsession for high-quality, reliable, rugged, and useful equipment.
